Vintage Masters Notes Part 2

[link to the previous post for this subject]

With this second post I am completing the white cards.

Spirit Cairn (3.227) Goes with cycling and needs mana. Needs an anthem to boost the resulting token.

Council's Judgement (4.520)
A complex card that requires play to understand.
From Gatherer:
"Split Decision becomes a better Twincast, Custodi Squire becomes a (mostly) better Karmic Guide, and Magister of Worth becomes a Day of Judgment with a 4/4 flyer stapled on to it for 1Black. And Council's Judgement becomes an unconditional removal for 3 mana.
Yes, Vindicate hits lands. But this gets past hexproof, regeneration, indestructibility, protection and shroud. It can banish a Jace, or deal with that protection from you. This removes more things than any other single card in the entire game. The only creatures that can survive this are Captain Cowardly and his trusty steed (and an assortment of blinking creatures, given enough mana)."

Empyrial Armor (3.954)
Can be strong but forces you to keep lots of cards in your hand.

Breath of Life (4.109) Obvious reanimator weapon. The black equivalent is Zombify. A Breath of Life/Zombify deck could be a lot of fun.

Crescendo of War (3.529) A Commander card. Good with tokens and if you are playing with lots of First Strike.

Teroh's Faithful (2.385) Angel's Mercy.

Battle Screech (3.721) Zero flashback cost means two more tokens, with a drawback of tapping them and tapping one of the original tokens.

Kongming, "Sleeping Dragon" (3.926) Lord for all creatures. Creature version of Glorious Anthem.

Parallax Wave (4.123) A repeatable Oblivion Ring. Is it true that the cards remain exiled if I use Eon Hub? Great for your own ETB effects.
Add counters to it with Proliferate. Allies get counters with ETB effects.

Spirit Mirror (4.173) Worth a build-around deck. Great combo removal with Unnatural Selection. To be studied with Changeling Shapshifters like Shields of Velis Vel. Becomes a tribal wipe with Artificial Evolution.

Karmic Guide (4.352) Reanimator card. Echo means: During your next upkeep after this permanent comes under your control, pay its casting cost or sacrifice it. You can bring a second Karmic Guide back as the reanimated creature. Part of an infinite mana combo with Ashnod's Altar.

Jareth, Leonine Titan (4.344) Limited bomb. Good devotion count too.

Eternal Dragon (4.447) Limited bomb. Discard for an additional plains, then return it to your hand from the graveyward.

Decree of Justice (4.425) Combos with Eternal Witness and Astral Slide.

Obsessive Search (3.737) Madness cost is the same as casting cost. Goes well with any 'draw a card, discard a card.' Combos with Merfolk Looter.

Aquamoeba (3.653) A blue Wild Mongrel. Should go well with Madness.

Brain Freeze (4.562) Storm booster. Good for U/B self-mill

Radiant, Archangel (4.139) 'For each other creature': enough said. Great in a weenie token deck.

Winds of Rath (4.303) Wrath for unenchanted creatures. Great if all of your creatures are enchanted!

Noble Templar (3.263) Tribal: soldier. Mana fixer.

Flusterstorm (4.387) Storm counterspell.

Cloud of Faeries (4.553) Tribal: Faeries.
From Gatherer: "Turn 1: Island. Turn 2: Island. Tap one island for High Tide. Play Cloud of Faeries, untap your two lands. Tap them for four mana. Play Helm of Awakening for 2. Play Snap for 1, targeting Faeries. Untap your lands and tap them for 5 floating mana. Play Faeries for 1, untapping lands and tapping for 8 floating mana total in mana pool."

Owl Familiar (3.060) Good with Madness.
