Go back to Part 3
I took a wrong turn with Eye of Ugin. It's time to come back to better lands. I have just proven to myself why the lands in the original net deck (Blue Eldrazi Stompy) are needed. I don't have as many as that deck had. These will do for now. I put in Ghost Quarters to make up for my missing Wastelands (I only have one).
I atart off with Library of Alexandria.
I can draw two cards per turn and take myself to six cards in hand until the next turn by casting two cards. It works out great to build a strong hand.
I drop a small creature.
And then I am on a roll with Precursor Golem followed by Phyrexian Metamorph copying for a second Precursor Golem.
I play my shutdown pair of Sphere of Resistance and I am done.
This first hand needs a mulligan.
I will have to wait one turn to start double drawing with Library of Alexandria.
I decide to keep Sol Ring.
Time to build up a really strong hand thanks to double draws.
Precursor Golem.
Endbringer.
Two low drop creatures that will likely get taken out of the deck.
And then some shutdown artifacts.
Here is another hand to mulligan.
And once again I get lucky and draw Library of Alexandria.
I decide to keep Eldrazi Temple for my Endbringer.
Once again, I start building a strong hand.
I am almost ready.
OK, let's go.
Precursor Golem and Reality Smasher.
Shutdown artifact.

Vintage Solitaire Eldrazi Part 3 of 5
Go back to Part 2
Now, let's try Null Rod. I took out the blue deck manipulation spells.
Drawing any shutdown artifacts in my opening hand is not good, but I will keep the hand because I drew great otherwise.
I have enough mana for an early Precursor Golem.
And then I can bring out Null Rod.
Here is a not-so-good hand. I have Library of Alexandria and that's it. Also, Phyrexian Metamorph does nothing for me early game. Time to mulligan.
This hand is not that much better.
A Moxen is a Moxen, and I put this one on top of my library.
This is a weak board position in which to cast two Sphere of Resistance. These could end up hurting me more than they hurt my opponent in a real game.
Yeah, it's time to make a change. I need more muscle.
Let's add Endbringer.
Here is a solid first hand.
I cast an early Precursor Golem.
I have Eldrazi Mimic in this deck just to see how it plays with these other cards, but once Thought-Knot Seer is added to this deck, Eldrazi Mimic is going out. It's a nice trick to boost it when you cast, for instance, a Reality Smasher, but Eldrazi Mimic does not belong in this deck and it belongs in the all-in Eldrazi Legacy deck.
Here, I decide not to add any more Eldrazi to the board since I am somewhat mana-screwed.
I decide to bring in Eye of Ugin, thinking it would help me cast my Eldrazi.
Here is a turn one hand.
A turn later I am able to cast a Precursor Golem, which is the workhorse of the deck.
Here is a solid battlefield position with this deck.
Casting Eye of Ugin here does nothing for me since I have already shutdown my own artifacts.
I draw a hand that I need to mulligan..
And then I draw an Eye of Ugin, and I get that feeling I get when I realize a card does not belong in a deck.
Yeah, I proved to myself why Eye of Ugin does not belong in this deck: it's for all-in Eldrazi and no other deck, and the tutoring cost is absurd unless you have a deck, like all-in Eldrazi, which is built to generate ridiculous mana in the late game.

Vintage Solitaire Eldrazi Part 2 of 5
Go back to Part 1
I added some cantrips.
Here is a first hand.
Chromatic Sphere gives me a little boost.
I am able to cast an X=7 Endless One.
In the next turn I am able to cast a Reality Smasher.
And I then create a second Reality Smasher using Phyrexian Metamorph.
Here is another opening hand. Any opening hand with a Black Lotus has to be considered likely to be a very good hand. I am sure that there are exceptions.
I sac Black Lotus and use Mishra's Worshop to have six mana to cast Precursor Golem with one mana to spare.
I then filter with Ponder.
I crate a second copy of Precursor Golem with Phyrexian Metamorph. This is a really good play because it significantly increases the number of artifacts on the field for when I have Tolarian Academy in play, such as below.
After casting Reality Smasher I am done with this Solitaire game.
Here is the opening hand for another game. Because of the divided mana issue, a good hand either has Mishra's Workshop and one of the heavier artifact creatures; Eldrazi Temple and one of the bigger Eldrazi, or all four. Any of the shutdown artifacts in the opening hand or first few draws is a dead draw because they also shut the deck down. The shutdown artifacts need to be used only after the deck has a really strong field position with artifact creatures and/or Eldrazi.
Casting Precursor Golem gives me a high artifact count to have lots of mana out of Tolarian Academy.
I can cast a second Precursor Golem.
And then I can cast any of my shutdown plays. Phyrexian Revoker does nothing in Solitaire but I want it in the deck because it will be in the final deck that could someday be used against a real-life player online.
Here is another opening hand.
Early Precursor Golem.
I cast Lodestone Golem.
I then cast the shutdown artifacts. These have to be cast in the right order, and I kept casting them in the wrong order. Null Rod shuts down your own Moxen, but does not slow down the other shutdown artifacts. I cast have learned to cast it first, and to exhaust mana from my artifacts with activated abilities since one I cast Null Rod, I can no longer use them to generate mana. I then cast Sphere of Resistance, which will make me cast Trinisphere for four. You can also cast Trinisphere and then cast Sphere of Resistance for three mana. Once any number of these are in place, it will be harded on your opponent but also harder on you, and you therefore need to make sure you have a solid field position before you bring down shutdown artifacts.
