I have grouped the artifact creatures into three groups.
1. Myrs and Golems. I have 11 colorless Myrs and 3 Golems. Myrs are great with color because most Myrs have a single color that they flavor. A colorless Myr deck is therefore pointless. These cards will complement the other two groups. Myr Galvanizer adds counters to all Myrs.
2. Rust Elemental + Arcbounds. I have 2 Rust Elemental and 14 Arcbounds. For a Modern Constructed deck this group is the core of the build.
3. Other artifact creatures: I have 23. The better ones are from the Scars of Mirrodin selection.
4. A commander build has 36 creatures to pick from. That is enough creatures for a commander deck, but not enough to weed out the not-so-playable cards, like the Goblins that aren't Goblins.
5. We have a great selection of artifact equipment: 11 from Mirrodin, 2 from Darksteel, 2 from the Shards of Alara block-these are from when I bought a bunch of multi-colored commons-; and 9 from Scars of Mirrodin block. A playset of Golem-Skin Gauntlets would be great. I will take the one I have.
6. A really good selection of artifacts: 10 Mirrodin, 1 Darksteel, 4 Shards of Alara block, and 9 Scars of Mirrodin block.
The totals for this selection are more than enough for a casual Modern Constructed deck: 53 creatures, 24 artifact equipment and 24 artifacts.
