Standard Red Green

I am not using any Energy from Kaladesh. This deck took a lot of tuning. Now, it works really well.

I won 2-0 against a milling deck. My opponent and I agreed that this format does not seem to have a viable milling deck.

The deck is one card away from being viable. This card would have been in the Core Set that we are still missing.

My opponent came reasonably close in the first game and not even close in the second. I was hitting too fast.

I won this other match 1-2. Glorybringer is crazy good. I am surprised and relieved that my playset of Plummet got me the win.

The first game was with Plummet in my sideboard... ouch!

During the second game, I brought in Shock for a little help. I knew I could not remove both creatures, but I was sure I could remove one.

I couldn't do anything against this flyer at this time.

But I was hitting fast.

Here is Plummet during the final game of the match. My opponent gave up.

I won 2-1 against a strong Black/Green deck.

The match was a war of attrition.

My opponent knew I would just keep hitting for the win.

Here is your typical tournament player using us poor casuals as punching bags.

Collecting Legends

I have looked up the specific rarities on the sheet and added them to my spreadsheet. There are C1s and C2s (commons with one position in the common sheet and commons with two positions), U1s and U2s, and all rares are R (one each on the rare sheet).

Here are the rares on the Reserved List (only rares are on this list). I have ordered all of these cards from cheapest to most expensive today. We shall see what future silly RL buyouts do to these prices...

The remaining cards (all commons, all uncommons, and some rares) are shown below. There are many C1s. Prices don't really reflect a marked difference between C1s and C2s because playability is what mostly determines price.

It's great that there are many cheap uncommons.

Life Chisel and Tolaria are U2 (double uncommons).

Surprisingly, Pendelhaven and Karakas are U2s.

Iconic Masters

It's hard to imagine how much value Wizards will be able to pack into yet another set with $10 packs, yet I am sure they know what they are doing. I looked at all of the cards in the firs batch of sets (Alpha/Beta/Unlimited, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends, and The Dark), and I came up with cards that would be cool in $4 packs, but not necessarily in $10 packs, with a small number of exceptions. You see, from this era, a really expensive card is on the Reserved List, and if it isn't, it was reprinted up to 5th Edition, and if not, then it was reprinted into oblivion, even more oblivion than 5th Edition... oh, and then several Modern Masters and the Eternal Masters printings happened. I hope Wizards has some new gimmick with these, like all foil, or all with the old card frame...

September 2, 2017 Update: And after a bunch of silly Reserved List buyouts-even though I don't care one way or the other about the Reserved List since I am almost exclusively an online player-it would be sweet justice if the Reserved List was, after all the lawyer fear-mongering, abolished. Yeah, if Iconic Masters has the Power 9, that will definitely make the $10 packs a bargain. If not... I just can't see what Wizards could possibly print in these packs... I really can't.

Here is a reddit topic for Iconic Masters:
